Integrated Computer Engineering (ICE) Expo 2026

Students of the 2023 Intake of the Integrated Computer Engineering (ICE) stream from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), University of Moratuwa (UoM), presented their semester projects at ICE Expo 2026, held on 9th October 2026 at the SLIOT Lab and the IntelliSense Lab of the department. The exhibition commenced at 10:30 a.m. and marked the culmination of a fourteen week semester, during which the students conceptualised, developed, and refined their projects through weekly evaluations.

The exhibition was formally inaugurated with a ribbon cutting ceremony attended by Prof. Shantha Fernando, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering; Prof. J. M. A. Manatunga, Dean Faculty of Engineering; and Dr. Sulochana Sooriyaarachchi, mentor & lecturer in charge .

The expo served as the final evaluation of the semester projects and provided a platform for students to present their work to lecturers, evaluators, peers, and junior students. The projects reflected the breadth of skills and interests within the batch, spanning areas such as Embedded Systems, Robotics, Signal Processing, and Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, and demonstrated the diverse approaches to problem solving within the field of Integrated Computer Engineering.

Beyond its role as an assessment, the exhibition enabled students to receive constructive feedback, engage with different perspectives, and identify opportunities to further improve their work. For junior students, the event offered valuable insight into the scope of Integrated Computer Engineering and the range of directions available for exploration within the discipline.

The students extend their sincere gratitude to Dr. Sulochana Sooriyaarachchi, whose guidance, advice, and encouragement were instrumental in shaping the projects from their initial conception to their final implementation. Appreciation is also extended to the senior students for sharing their experience and support throughout the semester, and to the Department of Computer Science and Engineering for providing the laboratory facilities and resources that made the projects possible. The students further thank the evaluators for their time, questions, and feedback, and acknowledge the collaboration among peers, whose discussions, troubleshooting, and mutual support contributed significantly to the success of the individual projects.

ICE Expo 2026 proved to be a valuable learning experience for the students of the 2023 Intake, bringing together a semester of technical work, problem solving, and professional development. The event also served to inspire junior students and to highlight the possibilities within the field of Integrated Computer Engineering.
